Thanks for the information about the tangle teezer Njoy. I am really curious about it now though so I will let you know if it works any better for me. I am very afraid about tearing.
Good luck with your flat ironing for NY. What I do when my arms get tired is sit with my legs spread, bend over and hang my  head upside down between my legs. I flat iron my hair with my head upside down  so my arms don't have to go above my head. I do it that way until my arms stop hurting and then I go back to the other way above head for a little while LOL Also I go and lay down for a while and watch tv when I get tired. Then I go back and flat iron some more later on LOL Another technique I want to try next time is flat ironing laying down in bed watching tv LOL I will just need a long extension cordTongue
Hopefully it will turn out really pretty for you for the holidays.
Happy holidays

I guess I'm about to straighten my hair for New Year's Eve. I just bought a vapor steam flat iron that I saw in a video. Now, my flat ironing skills are practically nonexistent. I'm not patient, my arms die and my hair usually starts poofing before I'm done. I just bought the Cortex Professional Steamliner Vapor Flat Iron after seeing a demo on a video. Reviews say it gets the hair pretty straight and silky. The steam seals in Moroccan Argan oil for gorgeous shine. Ehn. We'll see.
I'm looking forward to it but not looking forward to doing it (which is why I'm putting it off until NYE). In the meantime, I'll be deep conditioning, doing a light protein treatment and a thorough detangling in preparation.

Anyone every heard of it or had any experience with it? I would post the video but I can't find the share link.

I used to love my tangle teaser when they first became the rave. I was relaxed then. I stopped using it because ladies started showing that the tangle teaser was shredding their hair. When I heard this from some respected longhairs, I left it alone.

As a natural, I try to use the Denman but, yeah, my hair laughs at that.

As far as retaining length the main thing that has worked for me are low manipulation hair styles. I actually found a style recently that I wear throughout the week where my ends are completely tucked away. Prior to that I would do twist n curls and stretch them to about two weeks. Here's my best example:

can you post some of your low manipulation hair styles? or do a youtube video on 'em? :D <3

lol my hair is about 3C/3B and currently passing bra strap length, i cant really find a cute style i could rock throughout the week so my hair is always out and my ends get ugly quick. grr
