Not to say there isn't advanced twerking. But even still twerking incorporates only a tiny fraction of what it takes to makossa.

when did the term "twerking" become popular? i think people may just have an issue with the word, but sh*t is all the same.

For the DC/MD/VA folks, this is the same as girls who dance to go-go music. i don't know when the term twerking became popluar but black folks been dancing like this from the beginning of time.

i dont understand why certain african folks act like its so different because. guess what, its NOT.

Guess what, it is. How can you speak on something you probably know nothing about? I've lived and seen and been around both cultures. Confused

Is the second video posted in the op traditional african dance?

I guess if the "twerkers" danced to an african beat it would be more accepted?

I don't call the way girls dance to go-go music twerking either but the ass clapping is all the same. Expressive dancing, etc. it may not all mean the same thing but all still the same.

If its not please enlighten me.

No it wouldn't be because constant simulated booty bouncing is not the same as dance. It's fun and I do both. I can tell you there's a big difference. It takes skill to do a lot of traditional African dances. Anybody can slap their hands on their knees and start bouncing away. JMO.

Lima I know a couple girls from my hometown who married Nigerian men.
They say that the difference wasn't as stark as expecting.
When she had her baby his family flew from Nigeria and hers came down to to help out and clean and celebrate the baby

Lol the electric slide is played at every AA celebration
