I've used the coconut lime treatment before...Don't expect chemical relaxer results, but it does slightly loosen the curl pattrrn. I did it in conjunction with a steam treatment since that also helps relax the curl. I talk about it a bit in this thread...

I was interested until the last 2 steps. Roller setting and flat ironing on top of it? Too labour intensive for me...

I mean more manageable.

I don't trust this article AT ALL. The last part about roller setting and flat ironing  the hair with scurl or care free curl moisturizer on it takes away ALL credence. I used wave nouveau moisturizer on my hair and set it before but it made the hair constantly shrink or revert as if I kept putting my head in a steamy shower or went outside in the rain. ALSO to  try to flat iron hair with glycerine in it is a joke! The room will fill up with smoke, the hair will scorch and STILL constantly look like you stepped out in the rain over and over again! Glycerine ATTRACTS WATER MOLECULES from the air. So it constantly keeps  the hair slightly wet. Slightly wet hair that WILL NOT DRY COMPLETELY and a flat iron or a roller set are a JOKE! Both  rely on the hair being DRY enough to form to a new set. In my opinion the author is wack.

I did put yogurt in my hair once because it is supposed to  condition the hair   but I did not see it smooth out the curl at all unfortunately. I will try the coconut milk thing just for condition but I think a Brazilian Keratin treatment would be far better than any of this.

people tend not to be able to get past the words "straighten" and "relax" on homemade deep conditioning treatments.

if you look at the last two steps it requires roller setting and flat ironing.

It depends on what you mean by "work"

Treatments like this condition, and smooth the hair to make it pliable, and easier to straighten...There is no such thing as a "natural straightener"

It's not about loosening the hair, to get sleek 4b hair results... it's about moisture, and technique...
