What creative punishments would you come up with?
I was saying in the dead beat daddy thread that instead of just locking the dude up, there needs to be a sentence that allows him to work while still being punished.
So what are your ideas for drug dealers, shoplifters, tax evaders, etc. etc.? Tell us the crime and the punishment you would give.

My friend's dad had a sentence where he was locked up in jail from friday to sunday and allowed out of jail to work monday till friday until he paid he finished paying off the child support he owed.

I've seen it often in child support cases

I think people who steal (shoplifters, burglars, etc) should be forced to sell all their possessions and the money should go into a victim's fund.

-Deadbeat dads would have to get a vasectomy. If you owe almost $100k you haven't tried to pay so that means you don't enjoy taking care of children, just making them, which is unacceptable. And you'd have to do manual labor for the state like clean roads, highways, and landscape until they paid off their debt.
-For DWI offenders there would be a drunk drivers database. If you ever got pulled over drunk, not only would your license be suspended, but your id that you would receive would have a decal on it that showed you aren't allowed to purchase alcohol. these charges would be tied to your id # and a cashier would have to see it and key it in for you to buy it.
-You would have to do community service to get wic, food stamps, tanf if you weren't working.
-Shoplifters would get the amount they stole taken out of their checks for a whole calendar year. If they steal something stupid like nail polish or gum, they'll have to pay a dumb criminal tax which would be a hundred dollars a month for a whole year.
-Repeat offenders would have to pay a delinquency tax. If you commit three or more offenses on different occasions you will have to pay $200 a month for 3 years. If your rap sheet goes past one page it will be 10.
