If your s/o asked to borrow $1k from you and you agreed, would you make him sign a promissory note?  would you be too worried about him thinking you don't trust him?

not your husband...a boyfriend...let's say you've been together 1+, 2+ years. 

let's say he has a job, has a home, etc but has an unexpected expense pop up.

I dont loan money. However if i were indeed crazy for a moment in time yes I would and the money wouldnt leave my hands without it being signed.

I don't think I would be letting him borrow that much money to begin with. Then again I wouldn't let anyone only because I stay getting fcked over.

Yes, I would.

I learned the hard way over a way smaller amount. It led to threats being made and police being called.

If he has every intention of paying me back, I don't see what the problem is.

ive loaned an ex 5k for a month but she had money she just didnt have access to it and i totally believed she would pay me when she said she would. now if a friend told me their partner needed a loan i would tell them to write up a contractLOL its crazy but in my mind if you have to ask me what i think you probably shouldnt be trusting them.
