Do a protein treatment at week before you relax. Before you relax make sure you coat your previous relax hair in oil or vaseline to protect it from the relaxer. You can wash/ cowash you hair anytime you want after you relax. I wait a week cause i wash weekly. Are you going to a professional or are you doing your relaxer?

My hair is badly damaged. Mainly due to my inexperience and lack of knowledge.

I'm now doing research and trying my best to get on track.

I've laid out a calendar with a regimen to follow. I've run into a few questions and problems however. I do hope someone here can help me.

The end of Feb holds my birthday and my anniversary. I want to get a relaxer. The last one I had was over 7 months ago.

What do I do before and after the relaxer? My before and after care when getting a relaxer was non existent.

Before: Just don't get hair wet and don't scratch.
After: Don't get hair wet for a week.

Now I would like to know what I can do before the relaxer. If I need to do a protein treatment, do any of you have a product you would recommend.

After, how long to wait until washing or co-washing? Can I continue with my regimen as is after the relaxer?

I know it is alot to ask and I thank any one willing to help in advance.
