AA it will positively add value. We paid about $14,000 for our floors ( that price will be lower or higher depending upon how much square feet you are covering). You will be completely thrilled with your hardwood floors!

I think it will add value to the house 
I don't plan to stay in this city forever so I don't think hardwood floors would be a loss
I can do one room at a time
I'm in no hurry

I have a fire place as well, but it's stone. AA we looked at an engineered hardwood (laminate) but ultimately we decided that we wanted real red oak wood. There was a significant price difference and it really just boils down to your personal taste and budget. There are some amazing laminate flooring options out there now.

What's the different between Harwood and laminate ?
This house has a fireplace so I need some type of wood to match this fire place ?

hardwood is expensive as fucck ..

if thats how you choose AA, scour the net for reclaimed flooring etc etc

AA I am remodeling and having hardwood floors installed. They will be done next Sunday and I will try and post pics. It is incredibly expensive!
