I won't lie my partner and I have talked about putting tracking devices on my son's phone. We also think its a must to put a camera in his car this summer. Thank God he's a boy he will never think we are doing those things. Whew...

That is crazy. I would have got a crazy yt bf to kill my parents off.

I can't believe people actually cosigned this. It was abuse, plain and simple. It isn't spoiled to think you have a right to go to bed without being watched or that you should be allowed to live without being tracked. I don't see how it's ungrateful. Who knows what kind of mental anguish that type of lifestyle was causing.

Abusers in romantic relationships do the same thing, "I pay the bills, if you wanna eat you better do what I say" type of behavior.

So let me get this straight, if your parents would have paid your college tuition, you would have been okay with them placing tracking technology on your phone, requiring you to check in with them via skype, and watching you while you were sleeping?

And lets say you decided not to check in via skype, hence attempting to "cut your ties appropriately and moving on".  Would it be okay for your parents to pop up while you are on stage during a performance and cause such a disturbance that the college recognizes it enough to attempt to provide you with security from your own damn parents?

But if you don't abide by these terms, you are ungrateful?
Then after all of the checking in and being monitored, you're still being accused of being a drug user and a whore?

How is this being ungrateful?

In addition, the father is afraid of her mental state, not because they are running her half crazy, not because of a definite diagnosis of a mental illness, but because of a history of suicide in the family...WTF?

Yeah, I think a restraining order was very appropriate!
