it would be one thing if the son had a problem w/ the actor they chose to rep. his dad..which is the problem w/ the nina movie and zoe.

he doesn't.

What he has a problem with is that the movie isn't showing his dad in his best light...its showing him when he was going through some things.

as long as the movie isn't fabricating things about his dad-- i dont see a problem.

What's Love Got To Do With It focused on Tina getting her butt whipped by Ike..it was the lowest point in her life and she wrote about it because she overcame it. I understand that his family doesn't want to focus on that point in his life, but that is the only thing that will really sell the movie. Everyone knows what Marvin the singer was like because there are live tapings of him performing and you have his albums...but sometimes it is interesting to know what a person's life was outside of the limelight.

Between Nina Simone and this...I know there has to be a way to do a biopic of a black person that is tactful, respectful, and entertaining. We need to do better.
