COOKING FAIL:

Well I'm not the BEST cook but I have learned a lot from you tube videos. I went to the Amish Market around November and bought some OLD BAY fried chicken wings.

THEY WERE GREAT.

SO yesterday, I tried to make some chicken salad with OLD BAY and  left over chicken. WELL, I messed UP.  I did have a lot of chicken but I did not understand that I was using TOO MUCH seasoning.  SO the chicken was too salty and I had to trash the entire thing.

I was just "guessing" which if you are NOT a COOK, dry seasonings really require you to use less than MORE.

Use one teaspoon before adding one tablespoon.

So I added like two tablespoons of OLD BAY.....OH MY GOODNESS.....I should have added maybe 1 teaspoon or 1 1/2 teaspoons at best.

So AFTER I Trashed the food, then I decided just go to the OLD BAY website and see if they have recipes.  Should that NOT have been done FIRST!!!

SO the LESSON IS:

If you are cooking with a seasoning you don't have EXPERIENCE WITH, don't ASSUME you know, even if you google a similar recipe just to see how much seasoning to add.

Thank goodness this was not "DINNER" but something I was making to have in the fridge as a lunch meal.

They have a lot of recipes so here is the link:

https://www.mccormick.com/old-bay

then look under recipes.

Home Projects

Well I try and find things to do, I did finally LEAVE the house yesterday to go to the doctor for laser hair removal.  I paid for a groupon set of six package.  I bought it about 2 months ago, you go every month and they focus on below my chin to complete neck.

I can confirm that the laser hair removal does HELP.  I have 4 more to go and the cost was 300.00

I found that I was plucking my hair on my neck, and it was INCREASING as I was getting OLDER.

THEN it was leaving dark spots so I did not like that.  I'm don't need any help in having hyperpigmentation problems.

I will come back and report the final outcome.

Ms. Pinoy - Thank you for your comments, you are so right. I used to sell AVON years ago then I got comfortable with my salary and stopped.

I am sure this experience will teach and or remind many people to keep an "outside" business of some kind that can be a source of income.

What is kind of discouraging is it does not appear that anyone is even working in congress to bring us back to work.

But I am KEEPING POSITIVE, as I know many are suffering.

Hello Ladies

Today is 1/16/18 and I"M STILL AT HOME!!!

Can you believe it.

Honestly I thought I'd be back at work by NOW, but what can I do.

I am keeping a positive attitude because this is NOT the end of the world.  My husband is still alive, my mother who is near 80 is still alive.  I will have REASONS TO shed tears IN THIS LIFE.....and I won't shed TEARS for this situation.

You can just stress yourself out and make yourself depressed and I don't want to do that.

I have NOT looked for another job and when I watched the news yesterday the news correspondence was talking to a federal union president and he applied for unemployment.

So I thought well DANG, maybe I should look into this.

SO I called today and even if you apply you won't get any money for at least 3 1/2 -4 weeks.  You have to sign an affidavit, send 5 pay stubs, you SF-50 federal document and your W-2...I don't have those documents close at hand.......... THEN They said.....if you are a federal worker and your personnel office is closed.....that will delay the processing of your action.

I was like WHAT THE HELLZ....

I guess if I was in NEED or FELT I was desperate I would have continued with the process but I hope to be back at work in 3-4 weeks.

And the MAIN POINT IS...If you are a federal worker and get back pay you have to PAY BACK all the unemployment you got.

SO for ME, getting money in 4 weeks is not the answer.

WE have to go back to WORK.....we just stay home indefinitely.

Did you hear about the black man that was killed after meeting some girl on a escort site.

I feel so sorry for the wife, they all on the news in the beginning not knowing what happened, he said he was going to get his work schedule, then did not come back.  What an embarrassment to have him dye in this type of situation.

I found a new web series.  IT is about black couples, men and women and the problems.  It is good so far.  They don't have to many episodes, like 6.  This web series has no sex scenes, so it can be watched anywhere.  IF you watch, notice the guys voice that is so "DEEP", is it me but it does not seem to fit his appearance, I was shocked that his voice was so deep.

Name:

To Each His Own Web Series (Death of A Virgin Ep1)

I made some backed chicken and here is PhillyBoy Jay's instructional video.  He is from the upper north part of the US, so he has an accent so please don't focus on his accent.  I have learned a lot from him.

Happy New Year

Yes, I'm home on the federal furlough.  I'll do a quick Q&A to share my experience.

What is a federal furlough?

furlough is the placing of an employee in a temporary nonduty, nonpay status because of lack of work or funds, or other nondisciplinary reasons. There are two main types of federal government furloughs — a “shutdown” or “emergency”furlough and a “save money” furlough

What have you been doing?
At first, I really did not expect it to last very long.  I just watch tv, go on you tube, I have not done anything special.  I have NOT Left the house since Dec 27th.  FOR REAL, I had a bad cold.  Then I got better, then I just stayed home cause what I'm do at the "STORE" but "SHOP".

I did go outside, I went to the corner, the backyard, got the mail but I have not gone to any movies, stores or visited anyone.  You know I can be fully entertained on the internet with all the webseries, jail shows, Investigation discovery shows.

Did you get a paycheck?
Yes, in the goverment, you are two weeks in the "hole" as they say.  So I got a check 2 weeks ago.  I used that check to pay my mortgage and a few other bills.

Will you get anymore pay checks?
NO, I would have been scheduled to get a check on Monday but I'm not getting a check.

Are you depressed or mad?
I'm not going to LIE, I am not depressed.  I am blessed cause my salary was totally for me and my wants and needs and MY CAT!!!

My husband works so he is picking up the slack.

Many of my sisters here in DC are suffering.  Single mothers with NO HELP, no family to help, kids in diapers, day care expenses.

So I will not dare act like I'm suffering.  I'm okay.  We are going to take money from our savings account to pay February's mortgage.

When do you want to go back to work?
I'm so done, now I'm just on resting my body cause this will probably be the longest that I will be at home not working until I RETIRE.  Which IS not anytime soon.

When do you want to go back to work?
I don't even want to tell you the truth, cause you gonna say I'm getting lazy. BUT I'd be cool going back the first or second week of Feb.
I am starting to wake up later in the morning and just slouching.

But I know many people are suffering and NEED To go back to work tomorrow.

Not that I'm the best car mechanic but, NOW that it is getting COLD, the windows have ice or frost in the morning.  What do you do, get out the scrapper.

WEll, Don't forget to get a can of

Prestone De-Icer

YOU spray it the car window and the ice is GONE!!!
