i'm learning that my hair likes shea butter.  i add peppermint, rosemary, bee pollen olive oil while it's melted...lots of olive oil gives it a soft texture that melts easily when it's cold.

After the 3rd big chop since 2009, I've learned that:

1. My hair will grow. I will see length if I leave my hair alone.

2. My hair loves water and co-washing once a week.

3. My hair loves Finesse Moisturizing conditioner. It leaves it soft, touchable, and it really defines my curl.

4. My hair is beautiful with the unique texture that it is. No straightening, no heat.

i can now take my hair down every 6-8 weeks now.. that was impossible before?  i can co-wash whenever i feel like it w/o worrying about my braids coming apart.

But regardless of my co-washing, it's very important to keep D/C'ing my hair every 2 weeks.  i can't just drop it from my regimen..

yep, it's great stuff, YaYa.

Also?  i do the full tilt inversion thing.  bending over from the waist.  Believe it or not, i didn't realize how "tight" my hamstrings and calves were until i started doing this.

Thus, the inversion technique is not only great for the hair/scalp? it's great for stretching those leg muscles.Wink

That is awesome femme I'm glad it's working for you. I'm also a believer of inversions.

i'm learning that the LurkingKinds' suggestion of "inversion" is a keeper for me.  I thought i was imagining things.. but i think the "inversion method" - which only takes 4mins. a day, truly works.Smile

Finger detangling/styling is better than using a comb, brush, etc

Shampoo isn't needed for every wash...

My hair thrives with low manipulation...

Oily hair =/= dirty hair

Simple is better...

Late but just figuring out that cowashes are good.
IDK why it took me so long to figure out only combing my hair when wet and plenty of conditioner.  I was always told only to manipulate when dry.  I think I will now have better retention.

ceramide oils and silicons are a good thing for my hair. Drying shampoo and detergents are a bad thing for my hair.

PS Did you know that if you put vinegar on the leaves of a plant it will kill the entire plant roots and all. Those who want to experiment with it on their hair can go right ahead, but I will abstain thank you.

If it aint broke dont try to fix it.

My hair hates to be manipulated too often.

Heat thins my hair out when used to much.

My hair likes all natural products.

Go with your gut instinct when selecting products.

dont comb dry hair.
