I looked up Nature's Bounty HSN vitamins, and it has the same exact ingredients as Nioxin and in the same order. Nature's Bounty has a few more ingredients.. calcium, iron, phosphorus, iodine, magnesium, selenium, manganese.. but it has everything that Nioxin vitamins have. The HSN cost $7.72 for 120 pills. So I might have to buy these instead. So far I'm using Biotin and a multi-vitamin.
(I really want to try the Nioxin, but I just spent a boatload of money on gifts for my son's 1st bday, plus, I want to throw him a party. I also need to look into CHEAPER products that work, because there's no way I can keep buying these hair products every month.) |
MiZzChRiSsEe thank you so much for researching the product Nature's Bounty Hair Skin and Nails vs Nioxin Intensive Therapy Recharging Complex. I am NOT paying those crazy prices for Nioxin. Especially when I don't know if it will work for me. They see that women like it and gouge the price over $100 in some stores, that's ridiculous . I read some great reviews on Amazon and I think Ill give Natures Bounty a try.

I would give Nature's Bounty a shot (seconding this) I use it, and while I can't say how well it works, my hair certainly feels healthier/thicker.

I noticed the price jump as well. This puts nioxin way out of my price range. When I looked on the official site I noticed the recharging complex is no longer included in their selection of products, maybe it was discontinued? Now I'm searching for a comparable replacement. Any tips?

i'm on the same boat! I would say Hairfinity or GNC Ultra Nourish-Hair

I found out today from Nioxin.com that the new reformulated vitamins will go on sale between Dec 2012 - Jan 2013.

I'm taking 2 a day now for the last 3 weeks and I am LOV-ING the growth. I had a serious setback and I grew like crazy over the last few weeks. See fotki for pics.
Counted what I have left and it looks like 19 more days at 2 pills a day. Hopefully by then I'll be able to re-up.

Nioxin didn't do for me what I thought it would (I took it before the price jump). MSM from Trader Joe's gives me a solid inch per month and the cost is minimal to maintain 4-5 pills a day (not to mention it's other benefits).

I was right. Here is a statement from the makers of the Nioxin supplements.
"The Nioxin Intensive Therapy Recharging Complex Supplement is currently unavailable because it is being repacked and reformulated. There is no health risk to the existing product on shelves. The new formula is sure to be an improved version of the old one. It will be release sometime in fall."
