It's just Lilac. Most people here don't do that.

"and really don't know much about us"

I stopped reading after that s***. Anyway, I was going to say that anyone that's black and white can call themselves black and/or white. It's THAT simple. Sheesh.

LOL, insensitive. Wow.

I have not said one word that was negative. Ok, let me start over, my husband has loosely wavy hair and my daughter has tight curly hair when wet. Wait, maybe I shouldn't say when wet. When it's hydrated, lubricated. See how you can't just pick out one thing and then let the rest go.

But the point of my post was idenity. My kids are considered black, excuse me, African American and not bi-racial even though their dad, father, is bi-racial. His Mom is white, sorry caucasian, and his dad is black, AA.

Wow, I was simply trying to describe how my husband looks and I get called out because I said his hair is a nice grade?? Well excuse me, really. I was not trying to affend anyone at all. But I guess being that this is a hair site people are sensitive about wording. Let me choose the correct term, he has a 1 2 3 4, a b  c d type hair. Would that make it better?

What happened to the days where you could comment about something? I can call a chick a b**ch but let me say her hair is something and there are like 300 post about that.

It really doesn't matter what color you are but how you are as an individual.

My hair is nappy. Yes it is. I get relaxers to straighten it out and make it manageable. Now say something the word Nappy!

Good day...

well saying "good grade of hair" doesn't really describe ANYTHING if everyone has a good grade of hair. And usually that phrasing is used interchangeable with "good hair" which is thought of as "mixed people hair" or loosely curled hair.

So yes, saying that in this thread or ANY other thread on this forum will generally get you called out. You could have easily described his hair as "Loosely curled" or "Wavy" or "Straight" or "Tightly curled" "Kinky" whatever the hell it is. @_@ But good grade of hair is just soooooooooooooo vague and insensitive.

Then I grew some hair on my chest, said to Heeeeell with it, it's none of anyone's business what I am, or how I identify or how they perceive me.. Just as it's not of my affairs what they're beliefs on my parents marriage or our family dynamics are..I am both black/bi-racial, it doesn't have to make sense to anyone else.
You seem like a nice person but sometimes first impressions are lasting, and folks may not want to be bothered when you finally are.
