My last 4 installs have been with nets and I like them better for protection. Some may think I'm gross but I don't wash my real hair under the sew in. I wash the weave over the kitchen sink 1 half at a time. If my scalp gets itchy I'll apply some tea tree and black castor oil with an applicator bottle. When I remove the install and net there's no build up and no smell.

Net is better. I just like how long the install lasts and yea your scalp gets itchy but get some sea breeze and one of those scalp scratchers it's all good!

I've had both and like the Net sew-in better.  I currently have one in and I will say my scalp does itch a lot.  I purchased the Jamaican Mango and Lime oil with the applicator end and it seemed to work. As for washing, I also use an applicator bottle, dilute the shampoo with water and massage in my braids/scalp. I do the same with my Conditioner.  To fully dry, I use a bonnet that attaches to my hair dryer.

NET.

It has flatter installs and less hair damage. When your hair itches that means it obviously needs moisture. I use my infusium mix, and I am good to go. I have also had more growth and longer installs with a net. To each its own

I'm a NO NET type of girl.
I love having better access to my scalp! I tried the net twice before I decided I'll never do it again. Both times I ended up taking the hair down sooner than planned. I just don't like it. My hair does fine without nets; I only tried it bc so many ppl recommended its use. You def have to try it for yourself to be sure what works for you.

My natural hair didn't do as well without a net. It's just seems more healthy overall at takedown when I use a net. May try to go without one in the future when I only plan to have an install for short period of time to see how it does.

the net does have its positives, such as being neat, flatter braids, freestyle of laying tracks, and it doesnt damage your braids as much as regular sew-ins.

..I'm definitely a head scratcher/patter, at work, church, gym, dinner (eww, I kno), on a date, it definitely aint no shame in my game, but its harder to do with a net, which is a benefit at the same time, because regular sew-ins, when scratching your head, the thread is somewhat gnawing off your real hair thats braided and it (your barids) will shed & tangle once you take your install out (from my personal experience)
