I have never, even as teenager, understood fandom, canít see the point of worshipping someone who is no more than a poster on the wall ó and doesnít even know you exist. Love their work, fancy them rotten: yes. Scream until you faint at a gig, write them loopy letters: never. Despite my childrenís protestations I will never ask for an autograph. If I spy a famous person in London I look away. How embarrassing to be caught staring!

This is how i feel

I don't agree with this article in terms of MJ though

I feel they sort of do. Like when Britney brought out her album in 2007. She clearly wasn't ready yet, but a majority of fans voted on a poll that they wouldn't want her to postpone the album. Instead of wanting her to get help, they chose to get an album instead.

Just like with MJ. He wanted to do ten concerts, but when the number rocketed to AT LEAST fifty, his fans should've stood up and said, "It's okay, MJ. You have NOTHING to prove anymore, so put your health first!" Instead they rushed out to get tickets.

We should definitely start treating out stars better, and so should the labels, managers, etc, otherwise we'll have more stars burning out early like this in the future.

Quote In interviews with the famous, the conversation inevitably drifts into how they deal with fame.

And I agree with the article. However, I don't think the article applies to all lovers/followers of MJ, but the obsessive ones, and the ones that obsessively "hate" him with a smile on their faces and their hands doing the heart sign.

All my life, I've felt the same way. I remember when the Chris giving Rihanna a beatdown thing was new and hot and I'd see stupid girls saying they love him, he's in their hearts, and I told this one girl off who said Rihanna deserved it, and the girl PLEADED to me not to say "mean things" about Chris and that he means a lot to her heart.

This girl was mentally in love with someone she never met and doesn't even knows she exists.
