I finally decided to chill with all the heat.  I was straightening my natural hair, and really felt like I was stunting its growth and/or breaking it off.
 
I'm wearing my curls out now (I'm in love w/Eco gel), and I can tell this is going to help me get a greater length with less fuss.
 
I still consider my curls an afro of sorts WinkLOL
