I did a protein treatment on my hair about 4 weeks ago (palmer's coconut oil formula deep conditioning protein pack) and followed that with queen helene cholesterol conditioner which I left on for about 4 hours. Since then, my hair won't hold any styles. I'm not sure if it is over moisturized or over conditioned or if I didn't need that much protein. I have naturally thick, coarse hair and I've recently heard protein works better for thin/fine hair. I relaxed my hair last friday and it's still the same. It always feels damp. If I set it in rollers or braid it at night when I take it down the next day all of the curls just fall out and my hair is limp. The only way that I can dry it out is to use a blow dryer and then it becomes frizzy and dry looking. But when I add moisture back into it (I use Luster's pink oil or palmer's cococut lotion, I've also used a few anti frizz prducts from the loreal sulfate free line) it goes back to being limp and damp. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I would like my hair to hold styles again.
