I am struggling with the decision to BC again.

I transitioned out of my relaxer and went completely natural two years ago. Just like when I was relaxed, growth has been a struggle for me due to my ends despite getting regular trims, deep conditioning once a week, Aphogee Protein treatment every 6 weeks, and moisturizing and sealing nightly.

At the beginning of last year, I decided to dedicate myself to protective styles for one year. While the parts that have broken off have gained a little length, I still have the same issues. I am honestly thinking of doing a BC, but I do not know if that would make my problems completely disappear. Should I just continue to be patient with protective styling since that is the only thing that is helping my length, or should I just cut it?

i wouldnt big chop right now only because you have no idea why your hair is breaking off and until you do youll just be in a cycle of cutting and breaking.  you probably need to go back to the basics and relearn what you think you know about hair growth and figure out what you missed.

a good place to start might be with finding out your hair's porosity and see if youre even using the correct products for you hair's type.

I know my hair is HIGHLY porous........dries very quickly and can dry out by mid-day.

I may just go get a really good trim after I take down my twists and revisit growth techniques like you said.
