How long is your hair (in inches)? Are you generally good at styling your hair yourself? How frequently do you want to change styles (daily, weekly, monthly)? How tight are your curls? Do you want to use heat? Do you want to stick with protective styles?

Youtube is a good place to start to look for styling ideas. Naptural85 does styling on her type 4 hair with no heat...she has a lot of different styles up (for all lengths) and her tutorials are clear and easy to understand.

I'm currently going through this situation as well. Before I would use weaves as a protective style. However, I am finding that this is not working well with my hair. Does anyone know any styles that look nice for natural hair?

Hey Everyone,

I was trying to post this topic in the "Natural" thread but for some odd reason it wont let me :(
Anyways, I have been natural for my whole life and I just wanted to know if anyone knows about the "Neutrogena Triple Moisture Silk Touch Leave-In Cream" has anyone tried this product and is it a moisture based product or protein based?

Sexy--you just have to stop relying on braids and weaves and start working with your hair.

Research styles and buy hair accessories.  Play with them, lol!  Styling natural hair takes alot of practice til you understand what your hair can and can not do.a  Youtube is wonderful for seeing and learning ways to do your hair.  I'm a fan of natural85 as well.

This section has plenty of threads as well for styling.  Just start clicking away months or years back even to get new ideas.  That's what I do when I'm in a funk.

I recently bought some spin  pins and using those now.  I've seen them for about a year and finally decided to try them out--now I love them.

Over time you well get the hang of it and really love your hair and it's versatility.  I guarantee itWink

Youtube is a treasure chest! Seriously, search a variety of things:
Natural hair updos
Protective styles
Medium natural hair
Twist updos
braided updos
Marley hair natural hair (if you want to add hair but not as braids)...
Anything and everything you can think of and YOU WILL find a style
