i think booty clapping takes time...... there is this thing called Muscle Memory, where if you do a repetitive motion often (like throwing a baseball, playing guitar, leaping split for ballet etc) your body gets used to that movement and after time can perform it more effortlessly.
I cant speak for anyone else, but when i do the booty clap, it started in my thighs (like what Twisted said) and then over the next month i was able to get that jiggle to continue up my thigh to the butt cheek. So now when i booty clap i just focus on turning my legs in and out at different speeds and intensititys, and the booty fat just moves with it. The point im making is, you arent consciously controlling your butt, the movement comes from your legs and over time your brain/ body connection will figure it out. I was in the "awkward learning phase" of twerking for like 3 months before i actaully LIKED how it looked. just stick with it. If learning to twerk is something you really want, all you have to do is put in an hour of practice most days.
And rest days are just as important. I used to do music in high school, and they always told us about the muscle memory thing. If you're learning a new song and cant get it right, by the time you come back to it tomorrow your brain will have figured it out. Its hard to explain..... But once you experience it you'll understand.
Like i would decide "ok today im going to learn that walk Twerk team does" so i slow down their video, take note of which leg is kicking out, how their hips are bent, posistion if feet etc. and then try it! Even if i didnt get the move down, by the next day i had improved like 50% and it encourages you to keep trying!
