My weave is loosening a little. I have a net, so I'm not worried about the braids coming apart. I'm just wondering, is it worth it to go through the whole head and tighten, or should I just take it down and do it over. Its not like slipping out or anything. I would like to just reinforce it.

Usually about this time I'm switching hair, but I'm really liking my style right now and want to keep it.

Thoughts?

Definitely worth it to just re-tighten!!! Why go through a whole take down when you don't have to. Once it's reinforced it will feel good as new!Wink

Tighten it. It will extend the life of the install by 3 or 4 weeks.

Yep - I take out the front braids and take the front down only and sew it back on.

if you have enough new growth on the perimeter of your hairline seperated from the braids you can tighten it that way without cutting into the net...or it depends how your stylist braid pattern is you may be able to tighen some without removing all...keep in mind how long you have had it in....too much of a good thing is never good....so you wanna make sure your hair isnt being damaged and getting matted under the net...hth

Hey thanks Mahalo.

Thanks Sasstress. Okay. One more ? Right up the front where my hairline is, my hair has really grown. I've been using Surge. Not sure if that has anything to do with it, but right now there is enough hair for me to make a small braid. I'm thinking of braiding that and adding another track.

Do you guys think that may be too much tension?

definately would just tighten it, instead of re-doing it. Most of the time I re tighten mine after a shower when the braids are a little loose.

I call it a LIFT UP. I sew through the edge of the braid that is loose and hook it to the braid above it and then double knot it.  ( hope that makes sense)

Second question* I don't think that it would be too much tension.  I would braid it and tie it back to the others that are in the front.

I don't think it will be too much tension - I do it all the time, BUT - make sure you don't braid your edges too tight.  Like someone said - don't let it stay up too long.
