If you can't frown without feeling tightness around the edges, it's too tight. I think a lot of people just keep the edges a bit looser to keep from tearing the hair out and just redo them sooner than the rest of their hair.

I don't know. I've only gotte boxed braids 4 times ever. My scalp felt like it was pulsing sometimes for like the first 2 or three days and that's it.
