Jay-Z has announced plans to launch a men’s fragrance later this month.
The sultry scent, called “Gold Jay Z”, will bow with a campaign that promises to be…aggressive.
Instead of traditional print advertisements in magazines, Mr. Carter
is launching a digital and outdoor effort, which will plaster his face
on several billboards across the nation.
The fragrance is housed in a white bottle with gold lettering and a
gold top. Apparently, it took 3,200 tries at a name before Jay settled
on “Gold,” picking up the bottle, declaring, ‘‘This is the s–t; it’s gold.”
“Gold” will debut as part of the rapper’s forthcoming collection for Barneys on November 20th. It will then arrive in 2,000 departments stores on Black Friday, falling on Novemebr 29th.
If you’re planning on picking it up for yourself (or as a gift,) plan
to spend $39 for the 30-ml. size, $55 for 50 ml. and $70 for a 90 ml.
“Gold Jay Z” will be available at Nordstrom, Dillard’s, Macy’s, Sephora, Belk, Bon-Ton, Ulta, and more.
