I agree on that too.. I voted yes. But it just sounds odd that ppl care more about that than early childhood funding.. But I just did some research and it looks like that prop about community college funding will also help out k-12.. That's better than nothing

but i do think only violent offenses should count as a strike...not like selling a dime bag. that makes no sense to me. that's why Cali prisons are so overpopulated.

Selling a dime bag would only be a misdemeanor though.. Only felonies are strikes I think
I know a lady who has been to jail (for long periods) over 10 times for theft.. And I always wondered why she didn't have 3 strikes yet..
She is my friends mom and I've known her my entire life and she was ALWAYS in jail.. In for a year.. Then out for a month or so.. And so on and so on.. Consistently. She's never out longer than like 3 months

At first I was confused about 30 passing, but not 38, as they deal with education at the beginning (pre-school) and the very end (college).
Then I remember that I read somewhere that said if both 30 and 37 pass, the one with the most votes would prevail and cancel the other out. I guess nobody really wanted to take that chance. Damn near everyone at every CSU and UC campus was rooting for 30, because we want that money to come to our schools so we can get classes come registration time. It's a shame we cant have both, but I'm not gonna lie and say that I, a college student, would rather we have 38.
