And it's those standards that are laughable. But if you like them, cool.
Society says I shouldn't wear the same outfit every single day. Guess what? I do it anyway. Because that standard is laughable, ridiculous, preposterous. You don't want to wear the same outfit everyday? Great.

is it? how so? now i have worn outfits 2 days in a row so im not gonna front, buuuut it was when i wore the outfit for less than 3 hours and it's usually sweats. i dont think that standard is "laughable, ridiculous, preposterous" though

I didn't read the OP for the most part but I assumed this 1223782302 make up thread was about make up being used to cover imprefections
yall already said you don't think a woman with imperfections sans make up looks polished so what are you even arguing?
that women with flawless skin that choose to not wear make up look polished?

right, all you need is a clean presentation...clean face, clean teeth, neat hair, clean nails, pressed clothes....if you added a little make up, will you look better...yes...if you don't...you still look polished. if your skin is like the people in the OP then make up is better bc your skin issues can be a distraction to some people out there...ive never felt distracted by someone's lack of use of make up unless there was something huge and distracting on their face...never just everyday blemishes. i've been far more distracted by certain make up applications.
if we're talking about a ball, a wedding, etc etc...then that's a whole different thing but im thinking more in terms of everyday. |
clean does not mean polished. at the same time, thats what bebe was saying. if you spent all this money on spanx, the right underwear, the right hair, the right hairdo, the right nails... someone telling you, hey.. the right make up would have completed the look is not something terrible to say.
not all make-up makes people look polished either. stripper eyeshadow and foundation that is 50 shades lighter than you isn't going give you a polished look.
not everyone wants to look polished. and if we could just agree on that, we'd be fine.

Maysay brought up black tie events & business meetings, and Im pretty sure there was a simultaneous "GURL " heard echoing from the respective houses of the posters on the "makeup" side.

As long as a person is clean and dressed appropriately for wherever they're going, then there's no need to actually change outfits from day to day. But when you wear the same thing every day people (society) judges very harshly which is ridiculous.

Apparently nobody else read the OP either. It specifically said that was done on that chick's birthday.
Ie, a special occassion.
