IMO for me it's not about external pressure as my SO really doesn't care about my "down there" grooming. But I like to wear bikinis that are smallish on the bottom. FOR ME there's nothing hot about seeing wayward hair down there.

Cleaning yourself isn't optional but should be required. Deodorant (or its natural alternative) are not optional either.

Deodorants cause cancer. How dare you suggest people should get cancer because their natural body odor isn't pleasing to you.

How very unnecessary.

I guess you missed the part you bolded that said "natural alternative".

However, since you're referencing it, yes, if you cover your entire body in deodorant and reapply all over your body multiple times a day, it'll cause cancer.

I love when people hear a study and run with it. Actually take the time to realize how they found those results. Nine times out of ten, the scientists upped the intake of the offending carcinogenic item to the point of ridiculousness. Just like Aspertine (sp) the artificial sweetener can cause cancer...if you eat the equivalent of 5lbs of it daily like they did to the lab rats they tested on to find those conclusions.

ETA:

This is posted on Cancer.gov, The National Cancer Institute:

http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/factsheet/Risk/AP-Deo

*article summary:

However, researchers at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), a part of the National Institutes of Health, are not aware of any conclusive evidence linking the use of underarm antiperspirants or deodorants and the subsequent development of breast cancer. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which regulates food, cosmetics, medicines, and medical devices, also does not have any evidence or research data that ingredients in underarm antiperspirants or deodorants cause cancer.

You can be clean and offensive odor free without using soap and deodorant.
