cant really relate but  in every article like this there is  a point were the person gives white people credit for being apathetic.  black people give me the side-eye but white people dont.  black people hate my dark skin but white people dont.  black people hate my hair texture but white people.  man, white people dont give a about you and im surprised how many people dont understand that compliments that come out of their mouths arent worth sh*t and nothing more than mere social niceties. stop giving them so much damn credit.

Thin ppl can pull off that sloppy look bc of angles I think.
Clean lines and all that stuff.

Me being bigger I like looking put together.
It just looks sharper .

I see what she means with 'sloppy & fat'. I rarely ever see young AA people who are overweight rocking the 'I may be slightly homeless' look even though it is pretty comfy. I never really put it into context until reading this article.

I remember when my hair was short and still stood up for a fro *sighs*. My mom hated when it wasn't perfectly shaped. I wasn't trying to go for sloppy tho. It is unrealistic for me to wear my naps with every hair in place. Fukk that sh*t. It's too much up there lol

What is sloppy? the article said minimalism, but as a lover of minimalist fashion, I don't see that as sloppy at allllll. I guess I can only picture tumblr, hipster fashion. hmmm...
I need visuals.

I adorn myself like the queen that I am. If white girls want to go for the minimalist look like some damn paupers, be my guest.

I think she was referring to like this kind of style but that's just my interpretation, sometimes it has to do with height as well

I'm skinny and the only time I can slightly pull off these looks is if I'm wearing heels because the fabric just swallows me whol Downside to being 100lb and 5'2

I never been a fan of the "hobo chic" look. I think the Olsen twins started that madness...

but those women looked pulled together...they don't look like they rolled outta bed. and bigger women can pull off drapey fabric as well

maybe this? but she 1/2 white so that may be the white woman in her...this is not cute and should be frowned upon regardless of your size

Lisa Bonet's daughter looks sloppy. The girls above her look pulled together and like they put effort into what they're wearing. I don't consider than minimalist.
