Elementary school - 4th grade
I did not know what it meant, but I told anyway.
She got in trouble, it was a huge ordeal.

She later apologized (years later).

Ends up her Grandparents where/are racists..

I was probably around 19-20 . We were in Wilmington for the Azalea festival (bunch of girls walking) and it was yelled from a car.

Never been called it to my face by blacks or whites and never experienced racism until the age of 18 when I dated my first white guy.  I was so naive about racism before then (this was before internet where you see/hear it all the time).

Indirectly, I was in middle school (I went to an all white school). I was in class and I went to the bathroom. I returned to class and the kids were scrambling trying to hide the dictionary. Then one kid said they were looking up "n****r" while I was gone and everyone laughed thinking it was funny. The teacher did absolutely nothing. This is the same teacher that would give me detentions for every little thing smh. I was the only black kid in the whole school (it was grades 6 to 8). That's why I was so happy when high school started.
