Well by the end of the day, your hair is going to dry. It doesn't just stay wet. Now if it isn't drying soft, or has a dried out feeling, maybe the conditioner is too watered down. I never had this issue, my only issue was with both the crunchyness and dryness, and i eventually fixed that.

The only time my hair ever felt dry yet soft was the time i mixed a little kccc with a lot of my flaxseed gel and when i used flaxseed gel by itself. No problem layering flaxseed under kccc though.

It definitely feels more moist as of late but i can only pinpoint a change around april when i started to master the application to be less crunchy.
My hair actually air dries soft, in fact its too soft LOL. I am watering down the kckt using ur suggestion. What I mean by drying out is that once it has completely air dried after steps 4 & 5, and I wear it to like church or just out and about, the moisture dries out. Meaning it still feels soft but I can tell that I will need to add moisture to my hair. What I usually do is spray it with my water bottle and add a little bit of diluted conditioner & gel just to reset my curls. It's been pretty hot and humid in Ohio lately so my hair is losing moisture. I do the MHM every 3 days which helps, but I need to maintain the moisture for 3 days before my next wash.

Naturaltash1, I have the same issue as you. What you should notice is that if you do re-wet your hair, your hair will feel instantly soft unlike before where your hair probably would dry, you re-wet it and it doesn't feel soft until you put some more leave-in in.

I think the dryness is due to the casting of the gel.

Also, the longer you do it, the softer the hair feels for longer period of time. Experiment with how you water down the conditioner and also I personally must have my gel watered down.
kwicherbichen my hair does instantly feel soft once I spray it with water and the curls bounce back as well. It's good to no that I'm not the only one experiencing this. Before this regimen, my hair would dry out within an hour so at least now its taking more than 5 hours to dry out which is a big improvement. Do you think I have it watered down too much or not enough? I'm using the 2 oz kccc to 7 oz distilled water ratio. I have tried the 1 oz to 7 oz but my hair seems to like the 2 oz version better. What's your watered down gel ratio? Why do you like it better diluted? I did finally purchase the Q-Redew which is suppose work great for refreshing your curls and adding moisture without spraying your hair with water so I'm excited to try it. That is if it ever comes cuz its on back order due to the popular demand LOL.

Hi guys, i have a quick question about what pinke posted on page 88. she said that texturizers don't make the hair more curly. could you explain.

like i said previously i got my first texture softener in october of 2012. i had no curl pattern what so ever. when it was soaking wet or damp, none of that. and as soon as i rinsed the texture softener out and t-shirt dried my hair BAM! i had crimps for days. it only got better the second time i did it in feb of this year. that is what i attribute my curls to. before the texture softeners i didn't have any.

Yes, those curls were already there, they were loosened and became more visible. Texture softeners don't create curls. What they do is exactly what it says, "soften" or loosen your curl pattern. The reason why you may notice some curl is the same reason some one with really dry and kinky 3b or 3c hair may still be able to have a visible curl pattern. It can be just as kinky as yours but you can kind of see a curl here and there. An example of that is below.

Her texture is very kinky, but also very loose you you can see a wave here and there. Not max hydrated. No root to tip definition possible in this state. Just loose.

Texturizers are just mild relaxers. They cannot create a curl. If someone with straight hair got a texturizer, their hair would even get straighter. It would not become curly. So those crimps you saw are the loosened curl pattern you already had. You may see a curl here or there pop, but it would never give curl uniformity, because all you did was loosen the curl, making it look bigger. But your wash and goes from that would likely look the same except for a few loose hairs. It would still be just as kinky, and you wouldn't be able to get r2t definition. This is because relaxers and mild relaxers do not get rid of kinks.
