I upped my dosage yesterday from 3g to 5g of maca. I am taking a break from my protein shake (instead of taking twice a day on the days I work out, I will take only after I work out) to see if it was the maca or the shake that helped me gain weight....but I have a feeling it is maca because I was weighting myself all the time and wasn't seeing any improvement.

if you have had unbalanced hormones for a long time, resulting in a apple shape or just no curves |
OMG WOW! I thought body-type was all genetics,so it comes from hormone imbalance??????
So the "naturally" shapeless aren't shapeless at all, they just need maca GOT IT!
Edit: & of course exerise and a good diet too

weeeeeellll im not an expert on hormones at all (obviously ) but that is just from my observation. The women on both sides of my family are hourglasses and im a full blown pear (i think, because of having an eating disorder and losing a lot of weight during my teens, when my hormones should have been kicking in). I dont think everyone who is apple-shaped is that way because of genetics. Eating too much sugar creates excess androgens in your body which directly contribute to upper body and stomach fat. So, ommitting sugar and adding cardio to that persons life will drastically cut down the stomach fat (i have lost over 100 lbs, so this part im sure of and have experience with). Less sugar will decrease androgens in your bloodstream and cardio will burn viseral fat, the soft kind on your tummy that is easily burned off. Anddd in my opinion, being malnutritioned (not necessarily anorexic, but just not eating enough calories and vitamins over a long period of time) will certainly affect your hormones. probably causing not enough to be produced, causing more of a ruler shape. It helps to look over your eating/ exercise habits throughout your whole life and you'll start to see patterns and possibly reasons why you are lacking lady lumps. Especially when your body type doesnt match your family I think any woman who is unhappy with her body type/ shape, just needs to look over her diet/ exercise program and adjust it. Eat clean, do at least 30 min of cardio 5 days a week, weight train your lower body 2-3x a week, get extra protein, fruit, veggie, and water in your diet. The more soda, junk food, and sugar you cut out, the better your results. If you've never worked out/ anazlyzed your diet before you may have amazing potential for a nice hourglass shape, so get to it ASAP<-----message to newbies and lurkers, not Wants2Learn

http://www.paleoforwomen.com/the-physiology-of-womens-weight-loss-part-i-estrogen/ this is kind of interesting but hear is an explanation of how estrogen can change your body types " Women have more fat than men. A “fit” woman can safely go down to around eighteen per cent body fat, but no further, whereas a fit man can go almost as low as he’d like with no problems. Some male weight lifters manage to get down to around five percent. Additionally, women store fat in different places than men. When men gain weight, it is almost always concentrated around their abdomens. This is called visceral fat, and it is the fat most highly associated with diabetes and other diseases of civilization. The other kind of fat is called subcutaneous fat, and it’s the fat that appears underneath the skin spread out around the body. A woman’s body prefers subcutaneous fat. This phenomenon explains why women typically have less muscle definition than men–a tiny layer of fat is usually smoothing over all little muscular ripples. It also explains why they have large hips instead of large abdomens. Women have more subcutaneous fat than men in general, and they also store it preferentially in tissue around the hips, thighs, and buttocks. As a side note, estrogen is also important, but not the only factor, for the development and size of breast tissue. But women only have large hips versus abdomens so long as they have enough estrogen in their systems. As soon as estrogen drops off, specifically in menopause, women see their fat mass shift to their middles. This is a hazard to their health, as well as a bit of an affront to their identity as shapely, reproductive beings. There are ways to mitigate that, of course, primary of which is eating a natural, anti-inflammatory diet, secondary of which is staying active and fit. Estrogen causes an increase in the receptor known as anti-lipolytic alpha 2A-adrenergic receptor. (Anti-lipolytic = anti-fat.) This is how subcutaneous cells maintain their fat mass while other cells do not. In activating this receptor, estrogen increases the number of anti-fat breakdown receptors in subcutaneous fat. Because of the increase in these receptors, cells break down fat less often. This is not a bad thing! This is a glorious thing. While it may sound like estrogen is making you fat and keeping your biceps hidden, what it is really doing is keeping the fat storage that your body naturally wants to do away from your abdomen and more in your breasts, hips, and buttocks. Men are not so lucky. They pack on the disease-causing abdominal fat like it’s their jobs. Estrogen, on the other hand, protects a woman from that phenomenon. As well as making her body feminine. Which is hot. " whewww so i know it may be a lot to take in but learning about all this is such a huge help >.<

I never got my questioned answered !! | Simply put, YES it is pure MACA that you bought. The single ingredient that you said was on the package, that IS the 'long name' for MACA. Again, try it and see what happens, or don't try it, and just keep researching until you figure something out for your body. No one here can tell you exactly what to do or exactly how anything will work. It's all trial and error, and experimenting. Hope that finally answered your question(s)...?

take the time to read the thread. there's a lot of things answered already and you need to do your part and read, not just buy the maca. let's us know how it worked for you. don't forget to measure yourself to know if you're growing.
