she couldn't look at the recommended scholastic book list for BHM at the very least???
the best that this teacher could come up with is reading "the help"??

Make very specific alternative suggestions, perhaps a one liner summary to explain each and why
If she doesn't immediately change the selection, take it to streets (school board, Facebook, etc) with other parents, hopefully she has enough sense for it not to have to come to that

I wouldn't even let my son see the cover for it. I hid the copy I bought (on the side) from the nail shop under the bread bin in the kitchen. No child needs to see/hear that movie written by yt - did she ever pay the blk woman who she stole her life story from? no. didn't think so.
Yeah I would kick a fuss at the school. A major fuss.
