This whole flu deal..do u all think they are trying to create some sort of panic to get people to buy the flu shot? I have to get it anyway because I'm in the high risk category due to my CHF. Normally I never got the shot and was fine. I read an article last night saying not enough people are getting the shot, and now this morning they are saying there is a shortage I'm sure it is a lot more people sick this year, but just seems like big business pharmaceutical companies are behind this. And I'm normally not a conspiracy theorist.

I think it was three years ago we had a flu scare. My in-laws had to stand in a long line to get the shot. My FIL was also in a high risk group because he had brain cancer at the time. I had to go to a large gym with all parents with kids under 3 and get a shot for my son. It was quick thank goodness! In and out like a fast food restaurant.

I remember that. Started getting sick with my CHF then so I was in the hospital. Yesterday I just walked right into Walgreens with no line and got my shot. The places here where you can get the shot, I don't see the long lines and things like they're showing on the news. Guess that's what sparked my question

They had that mess there too about running out. Showed some people trying to buy stuff online (why would somebody risk their health doing that!). If it is in the US right now, then it'll be flowing here soon enough.
When there is money to be made..I doubt there will be a real shortage

A lot of people where I live are actually getting the flu, a lot of my associates have had it, so I think the epidemic is real.... now whether it was deliberately put out there, that's another story.....
I personally refuse to get the shot though - am not high risk, and I don't understand how it works, I thought there were lots of different flu viruses, how can one shot protect you?

I'm probably never going to get a shot. I don't trust them. A guy I worked with rushed to get one when our job offered them for $10. He told me if there is anything he could do to prevent a disease/illness he's getting it. He was sick as a dog for the next week, and got sick again a month later.
As many germ-y clear ppl I'm around everyday, I still haven't gotten sick. I'm going to trust my immune system to do it's job, hasn't failed me yet.

Iono but just about errybody in my office got Captain Tripps right now. I stopped taking the shot. Even when I took it i'd get sick just the same so....*shrugs* I just eat raw (especially strawberries, grapefruit and Emergen-C) when I feel it coming on and I cut it to the quick.
