Honestly, I remember being struck by the segregation. Visiting the fam, I'd never seen so many black people in the same spot outside of the West Indies. That was as odd to me as it was for my cousins to come and visit us and see that we were surrounded by white folk

Yes the desegregation has not really been overcome. Most ethnic groups live by each other mostly.
