I don't think I'll let them sleep in the bed with me.

We had our own rooms.... But my brother, sister and I sometimes (not every night, just every once in awhile) would sleep with our parents. Even though I was the oldest I was afraid of the dark. So I slept with parents when I would get scared. I did this till I was like 15. Mind you my parents had a HUGE bed. So it wasn't awkward. Now I grew up in a white area and I can remember spending the night at my white friends and they would get in bed with there parents and just leave me by myself... I would want to go home and there parents would try to invite me in bed... Although I know for fact they didn't have ill intentions.... Still inappropriate.

Hell no. I was only allowed in my mom's bed when I was sick. My gramma's bed....heck no....well...only when I was sick. And she allowed that until I was about 13.

my fam didn't do that. i can remember wanting to sleep in there during bad weather and after nightmares, but my father would lock the door every night, so I never did that.
I can remember going in my big sister's bed sometimes, though. and my baby sis slept w/ me until she was about 5 and she had her own bed.
i probably would not do it.

I believe in co-sleeping. My son is 5 and has always slept with us. Sometimes my husband sleeps in my sons bed. I slept with my parents until I was 12. Rarely, my son will fall asleep in his own bed. When he does, I don't get any sleep because I'm constantly walking and checking on him.
I will admit that my son and have some attachment issues. He is my only child.
I also believe that families should do what is comfortable for them.

I never ever wanted to sleep wit my parents because my daddy always slept butt nekkid and snored. But my siblings and I always went to bed together. I don't know how all 7 of us managed to sleep on one twin mattress, but we made it work My kids will never sleep wit me, because as a woman, I have needs, and those needs can't be met when there is a child in between us. Nuh-uh.
