This is what I was going to say. Plus rich blacks always get a reminder that even if they are in a benz they are still a n.i in a coupe.

therefore racism is racism

but they are too stupid to understand this

never liked Dream but he is another one to add to the list

I can usually assess my opinion of black men and their issues with racism/classism by speculating as to whether or not they've ever publicly dated a black woman. In the Dream's case, the answer is a resounding no.

I then like to throw in their faces that the way the likes of Donald Sterling and the classist elite views them is an amplified version of their aversion to their own people. I let that simmer for a while then continue to give zero fu.kcs about their cooning asses.

edit: Another poster said it best. A lot of these men think that their newfound money is a way to somehow buy out their blackness. I'm sure it's a kick in the gut when they realize they will forever be second tier to the men they so badly want to emulate. Instead of focusing on building our communities through music, we encourage its denigration through the horrible standards we have set for our sons and daughters. I literally have come to associate black men and music with strippers, sex, and alcohol when there was a time when they (black artists), for the most part, exuded some level of class.

And then we flock to other women/men/cultures to avoid the stress of having to mend what is broken. Sad story.

I just went off on the biggest tangent. But a summary version is that I really don't care what a coon has to say right now about his qualms with classism.

No doubt Samone. It was a shame all of the times I saw new blacks defended Sterling.

Funny I didn't see any of BHM's new blacks posting in the sterling threads... Geek

I'm so tired of hearing sh*t like this from all these 'new blacks' popping up everywhere

racism is racism....it's systematic and has permeated every level of society..it's socially, economically and mentally damaging to POC everywhere

..it was, is and always will be racism

so to hear people like the dream/pharrell thinking they're enlightened and far removed from the problems of "regular" blacks...I just don't understand

cos to whites you're just another blackie with money..word to donald sterling

it's a damn shame too that you can sit there and talk about something being "the new racism" as if systematic oppression is a fashion trend

I was gonna say CC, you should name names Geek
