oooooooooooooooooooo...brined baked turkeys are the BEST.com
i don't even like baked turkey like that either...i prefer smoked or fried...

TC, I was impressed the first time I brined a turkey.  I always brine turkey from that point on.  It is okay to brine a turkey, for smoking or frying.
Do you use large brine bags, or a large bucket? I plan on brining my turkey this year... and want to make sure I go about it the right way.

I use a brining bag, and a large pot with a lid.  You can also use a bucket but a bag must be used.  If you have not bought the bag, and there is a Kroger in your area, the price is reasonable 1 brining bag is $3.99.   They cost more at other places, or hard to find in my area.

ETA:  I place the brining bag in a roaster, then put the turkey in the bag and pour the liquid over the turkey. Then close the bag, put in a large pot with a lid.   I make enough brine to completely cover the turkey.  It eliminate turning the turkey over 1/2 way through the brining process.

Yup lol.  I just now searched in 2 different markets for the mix.  I'm going to walmart later to see if they have it.  If not, I'll make it from scratch.  I just found a recipe for strawberry cobbler.  I'm tempted to try that insteadLOL
