Has anyone had the texture of their hair change from MSM on the hair?     (I know it can happen from taking MSM)

I was puting MSM in a oil on my scalp, and combing it in my hair, and the newgrowth came in verrry silky, and the rest of my hair was alittle softer. I was just feeling my newgrowth and noticed how soft it was and could not think of why untill i remeber what i put in my oil

I would like to know, because if i could keep this up, i could quit putting any chemicals in my hair

TIA

im growing out my relaxer-because im sick of bone straight hair, and about to start using a low ph acid relaxer to just soften my hair alittle and loosen the texture
But, from my newgrowth of using this stuff, i may not need to use any chemical at all, which can never hurt right?Wink

yeah, the results were really nice-the regular texture of my newgrowth is verry verry tight s curls, coarse, kinky ect.-this newgrowth especially the kitchen was smooth, wavy.

I just wanted to know has anyone else seen results from this, or was this some temporary thing

Well, This mixture was messy, just to give me an idea ( it was just an experiment for november, before i was trying surge, in Jan. im going to start an offical regimen and exact measurements)  But, i did get alomost 1 " newgrowth with it in 3 weeks, every other night usage and it really made a difference in shine and feel of newgrowth

Coconut oil-About 12 ounces

Peppermint oil- Think it was about 2 ounces ( way too much, scalp would be tingling all night, may have been the reason for the growth,-and i would rinse my scalp in the morning to rid the smell and tingling, so im sure that helped to, a clean scalp)

MSM -About 1-1.5 ounces

Cayenne -about a teaspoon

I got the MSM from a friend (only reason i even did it, cause i wouldn't have botheredLOL) but since the results are good, i am going to order from baldwins.
Is there anything wrong with just crushing an MSM tablet?
And So it is a fact that msm topically softens hair texture?

Orginal question from whatwhat12:

Crushing the tablets is not the same as the powder alone as most of the tablets have fillers. Using the pure MSM powder will give you the best results topically and internally

As far as MSM softening hair topically, I'm not sure but it makes sense.

Hmmm topical MSM, sounds interesting.  How well does the MSM mix with the oil? Does your hair feel gritty or have a residue?

It mixes well, you just have to shake it, and let is settle in for a day.
Then before each use just shake it alittle
No gritty feel to the hair like sand or anything.
