I actually see that all of the time. People want a pixie or a bob but dont want to cut their hair, so they get weaves that mimic the styles they want.

And after they take it out they wear their own hair or a long weave. There is no one who rocks a pixie cut weave all the time who's going to whip out BSL hair.
