Oh, I would actually like to know that, too! I have a similar skinny body type, and never really understood how to determine hip length. if no one knows, maybe I'll ask in the waist/hip length challenge.

but I think where the legs and torso separates is hip length. if it was located at the middle of the hip that would be tailbone length.

Oh I'm glad you get it, because I kinda felt weird asking it :)

I was thinking the same thing if its in the middle of the hip its tailbone, and if its at the widest part, for me that would be mid booty because I have somewhat of a booty but hips? hardly...

I'd like to join! I've lurked here quite a while now but never posted and decided to create an account just to sign up for this challenge for some motivation (lol). I never really started paying attention to my hair until this year and lately I've been really self-conscious about my ends (and I refuse to cut more of it off since I very recently took off 2-3 inches and it made no noticeable difference ;_;). Like yesterday, I had my hair in two braids like I usually do, and I was so embarrased with my thin ends that I put my braids up to hide them :( I've been super obsessed about my hair lately and I've only recently realized how damaged it is and how badly I've been treating it all these years! I'm most concerned about having my ends the same length as the rest of my hair. I think I might be almost tailbone length already, but not too sure.

*Are you relaxed, or natural?: Currently relaxed, although I have been undecided if I want to transition or not. I may just transition to texlaxing...
*What is your current length?: Not sure.. maybe tail bone? Sorry for my n00bness... all I know is it's just about touching my butt when its wet, lol.
*3 short term goals (could be milestones, bad habit breaking, whatever...)</span>
-Breaking bad habbits definately! I need to start being super gentle with my hair and moisturize more regularly
-Be more consistent taking my vitamins
-Drinking enough water every day!
*post your DETAILED regimen (include your vitamins and growth aids)</span>
-Wash hair 1-3 times per week with conditioner (I work out a lot), and 1x every 2 weeks with sulfate-free shampoo. I now DC everytime water touches my hair with regular condish. I tend to rotate shampoo/conditioner and don't really stick to one, but I'm currently rotating between tresseme naturals conditioner/shampoo, suave naturals conditioner, garnier fructus triple nutrition, biolage hydratherapie conditioner, biolage hydratherapie hair mask, organix keratin conditioner/shampoo (for protein treatments), mane and tail conditioner (for protein treatments), organix tea tree shampoo, loreal everpure conditioner, and garnier fructus triple nutrition conditioner.
-I use a leave-in conditioner after washing such as giovanni direct leave-in, garnier fructus sleek and shine intensely smooth leave in, l'oreal eversleek sulfate-free leave-in creme, or one of the regular conditioners I listed above
-finally, I seal with my oil mixture that contains avocado oil (my fav! makes my hair feel sooo silky), grapeseed oil, jojoba oil, coconut oil (tames my frizz prone hair), olive oil, lavender oil, and peppermint oil
-I then air dry my hair in 2 very loose braids (this process usually lasts overnight until the end of the next day)
-I do not currently take any growth aids, but I do take regular multi-vitamins which I need to be more consistent with

@darkvalkyrie, from your avatar, it does look like you're tailbone or past tailbone! so are you trying to become a full, blunt tailbone? when I say that, I mean fuller at the bottom and trimmed to exactly tailbone length.

yahya,
Yes that's my goal :) I'm pretty embarrased with my ends right now so I've been doing loads of protective styling and I no longer use heat. Would love to be full blunt tailbone :)

It's true that hip length is not the same for everyone. I just measure to the top of my hip bone. then I measure tailbone based on where the bottom of my pockets lay. Some will say where the "split" of the rear end is located can determine the tailbone length, but maybe a safe bet is to just say that the top of the hip bone is hip length, and tailbone length is the top of the tailbone. after mid back it starts to get e little confusingOuch

@darkvalkyrie123

It's great to have you on board! I mainly wanted to start a forum topic so that I can get some motivation as well, and to some degree...Its addictive!

 I love your hair!
I also have bad ends, and  when we reach tailbone length, the rest of the year might be spent on making it a "healthy" tailbone length, meaning trims, and more care when dealing with our new locks. I am also relaxed, so my ends are really brittle. I have noticed a large amount of breakage until i stated doing warm oil treatments before washing. It has significantly reduced the breakage.

@ Dark: Welcome! Your hair is super long already. If I were you I would just get rid of the ends so you can wear your hair out without feeling embarrassed :) I had to cut a huge amount of hair last year, with pain in my heart, but it grew back extremely quick

@ Blng: If we determine hip length like that I might already be there. Will wash my hair today and check :) This is exciting :-)
