    Posted: Nov 09 2012 at 11:46pm
Hello Hairinistas!

I have reached my goal of mid back length earlier this year and i took it a step further and reached hip length for my birthday in September.  This year's end is drawing near, and it's time for some new hair goals!

My goal this year is to reach a evenly thick tailbone length, or what I like to call, Pocket length! I know that it is possible, and I want to create a topic section where we encourage, empower, inspire, and grow together!

The rules:

there is no deadline, and the goal date is January 1st, 2014

You can be relaxed, or natural, it does not matter. All hair is capable of reaching incredible lengths!

try to keep a picture hair timeline. a minimum of 1 picture per month should be fine. Trust me, you will see the difference.

be sure to update us at least once a month. let's try the 1st of each month. (don't worry if you miss it, Post as soon as you remember)

To enter, please answer the following questions;

*Are you relaxed, or natural?
*What is your current length?
*3 short term goals (could be milestones, bad habit breaking, whatever...)
*post your DETAILED regimen (include your vitamins and growth aids)

I will start:

*Are you relaxed, or natural?

-----I am relaxed and I have been for....as long as I can remember

*What is your current length?

------Hiplength
*3 short term goals (could be milestones, bad habit breaking, whatever...)

Try to trim more so that my hair can be shaped better. i want even thickness to the ends.

find different protective styles

more hot oil treatments

*post your DETAILED regimen (include your vitamins and growth aids)

I wash every week and a half, then i let it air dry. Once it is dry, it is gently combed back into a bun, which I wear often. I relax every 4-5 months. I take 4000mg of msm, and i take a food based multi vitamin juice that also contains my daily dose of fruits and vegetables. Before I wash, I do a hot oil treatment. I am currently experimenting on whether it it better to do on wet or dry hair, I a also thinking about using coconut oil. I hardly use heat. I have only used heat 2 times this year.

Yaaaay, I'm excited about this! Thanks for starting the topic. You went from mid back to hip fairly quickly!

*Are you relaxed, or natural?
I'm natural, and have been since over 4 years. I have had some minor setbacks, but I'm on track now

*What is your current length?
I'm close to hip length. I'm hoping to be there in a few months

*3 short term goals (could be milestones, bad habit breaking, whatever...)
I just started scratching my scalp with a comb before washing to improve the health and circulation of my scalp, I will continue doing that
I started to take my hair and length for granted, and I stopped doing things I always used to do. I will now moisturize my hair on a daily basis again
Another goal of mine is to stretch between washes to minimize manipulation and improve the health of my scalp

*post your DETAILED regimen (include your vitamins and growth aids)
I scratch my scalp with a fine tooth comb before washing
I clarify my scalp with shampoo
I conditioner my hair and comb my hair out with the conditioner in it
I leave in some conditioner and olive oil when I wear my hair curly
I set my hair in braids to dry
At night I put some olive oil in my hair and concentrate on the ends
At night I braid my hair up again
I will straighten my hair no more then once a month
I keep a healthy diet and drink 2-3 liters of water a day

Thank you! I can't wait! Good luck to you too. I have done some searching, but i can only find a handful of hair inspiration. My first one was shima on youtube, then there is dianey55. Diany's hair is incredible!

I'll join! I'll post my app after I get my hair straightened, to measure the length.

I have a question too. Maybe one of you can help me out. I'm having a hard time to determine what hip length is. I know that waist length is when the hair comes down to the smallest part of your waist, but where is hip? I dont have the kind of body type that has wide hips, so for me its hard to determine.

The picture clearly isnt me, but her shape is a lot like mine. The line that separates the legs from the torso (really clear on the left side), is that where hip length hair should fall? Or is it where the hip bone sticks out on her right side? Because that is a bit higher than the crease of the v line.

Thanks in advance!
