I want to use my synthetic wigs out swimming. I don't want to go without one. Do you have any recommended ways to clip up my hair so I can avoid getting it wet? Is it safe to use my wigs at all? I used to swim when I had human hair sew in and real hair but now I cannot part with my synthetic and feel like I want to swim again! I am a leisure swimmer if it helps any. I like water volleyball and swimming without wetting my hair anyway no laps.

While I would not recommend exposing your synthetic hair to chlorine water, because it can cause the hair to tangle and become matted, if you choose to wear your wig you can clip it up and put on a disposable shower cap and then put a swimming cap over the shower cap.  The shower cap will help minimize the friction damage to your hair, and the swimming cap will help prevent contact with the chlorinated water.

I hope this helps! Smile

I disagree with Dr. Virus.  Synthetic wigs are great to swim in, they don' tangle or matt.  I do it all the time.

Have you seen this youtube?

I would agree that between human and synthetic hair, synthetic would be better for swimming in chlorinated water. I just think that it is ideal to protect hair from any elements as is possible so suggest the cap method.

Great input! Big smile
