Hello All!  Smile  So I have a relaxer in my hair and my hair seems to grow fairly quickly.  I've had my hair in a 'pixie cut' so its a short cut, but has started to grow, and I follow up with a relxer ever 6/8 weeks you know, like your supposed to.  But I'd really like to keep it growing, and just have my own long hair, perferably without putting in weave again, if I can.  Any tips?  Because also, as it grows, it gets a little harder to style my short cut, because of the different lengths around my head LOL  So what can help with growth?  And also, styling it while its in this, 'length' transittion, if you will.Big smile  Thank You!

I suggest, first of all you really shouldn't relax your hair every 8 weeks, because in that time your hair doesnt even grow a whole inch, it is a waste to put your scalp through that stress for such a little amount of roots (the chemicals in relaxers clog/irritate your pores, you ever get those scabs/sensitive scalp after a fresh perm? not good for hair growth). Try to go as long as you possibly can in between, 3 months is ideal. less is more.

i know you dont want a weave but if you like fake hair, a wig (although sounds like something for old ladies) could be a really good idea, it is like a weave that you can take off to condition your hair (aim for deep condition twice a week, shampoo only every 2 weeks). youtube has a lot of ideas on how to wear wigs but I suggest you get a full cap and leave out just enough hair to cover the edge, and use perhaps a stretchy skinny headband to keep your hair down (rather than flat iron or gel).

since my hair was longer I did a similar routine except that I used weave ponytail and wide stetchy headbands instead of wigs. perhaps you can switch to that when your hair is longer. avoid heat and styling products, only condition, condition, condition!
