Personally, I'm stumped. The education myth ( thought it helps to a great extent) has been exposed. What are we tell our children now?
create an economic base and get money, build businesses. money talks...

What do we do now? Any solution to the problem? Advice on what we should do? What?

Start your own thing.  Blacks get hired last, fired first, have less access to financing, and are systematically excluded or self-select out of opportunities available from the greatest creator of wealth the world has seen since the transatlantic slave-trade: The internet.  There is a startup gold-rush going on that blacks are absolutely absent from, and there's no good reason why they should be.  I speak at conferences where I'm the only black person on the panel and sometimes the only black person in the entire building.  The internet has leveled the playing field in a lot of ways, but we're not taking advantage of it.  I think startup incubators aimed at black people with ideas, and access to financing will go along way.  That's why I posted that lady's hair extension idea on here.  We need access to financing.

@brownie, yes we did and we were thriving as far as having safe communities, businesses, 2 parent families and jobs. what stopped that momentum was jim crow. we need to get back to that.

Notice how when our labor was free, Whites always stressed how good we were at our job but when we became free and discriminating against hiring us became against the law how quickly we got labeled "lazy" and wanting "a hand out"

How can anyone say you can't quantify racism.... in America of all places? How ignorant can one be

there is a trend among upper middle class latinos called gente-fication (not to be confused with gentrification) where upwardly mobile hispanics chose to return to poorer hispanic neighborhoods in order to help their people (gente) prosper.

we need to follow their example.

i feel you, tc.

my current neighborhood is interesting. i live in a city/town that is considered the hood based on it's reputation. but i live in the historical area of the city where there's a mixture of 400k houses smack dab in the middle of run down shacks. the third largest private school in the country is across the way from me, and down near the end of my street there are a couple of small extremely low income complexes in the mix.

i refuse to leave my people.
