i dont like spoilers in movies and especially books.  i had just started this book and i was telling my friend about it and she was like "yeah i read that it was so sad when the wife died" shes known me for years and knows this ruins the book for me.  this is just further proof that she secretly hates me.  i spent half the book waiting for the wife to die. she then did the same thing months later with another book and when i got mad she said "your not even going to remember i told you"

Prolly because I'm a writer and spend a lot of time trying to build tension and keep things unpredictable so that the climax pays off. But on some sense, maybe the people reading can appreciate all of the small things more when they aren't on edge about the plot.

As far as my habits, I will seek out a small spoiler  on movies or books that I'm not looking to read/watch on a deep level. For example, Last Exorcism 2. I don't expect much from the movie, so I did seek out a spoiler on the plot to see even I should spend the money to go see it.

I use wiki a lot when I'm watching TV shows, but I read the episode descriptions AFTER I watch the episode, just to fill in blanks and see if I missed anything.

I just caught up on the last season of Breaking Bad. I felt like I was dodging bullets for five months trying to avoid people talking about it.Friends, co-workers, facebook statuses, memes, man I had to work hard to avoid it all.

I'm happy I managed to watch those 8 episodes without knowing the big reveal. Whew.

If I was on a 1st date, I'd prefer to see a romantic comedy or drama, not a tearjerker.  Me watching Beaches is not a pretty sight.  Tears & snot running everywhere.  He wouldn't be prepared for that.  Most likely be freaked out & scared off thinking I'm unstable.

books no i like to see whats happening for myself. movies love them will review while im watching.
