Yeah college is expensive and not everyone can get a scholarship so yeah loans is the only way for a lot of students.

I don't agree with Rush Limbaugh much however, his POV on liberal management of Institutions and College is what has gotten us into this mess.  They are constantly raising tuition, and offering loans to kids with no jobs and expect payment, moreover what about the economy, loss of jobs/income and salliemae still hikes up the debt

I'm so glad that I didn't got to Parsons or LIM when everyone else was pressuring me to. I can't fathom the amount of money that I owe in loansDead

My professor told me that Parsons students and FIT students qualify for the same exact jobs anyway, so those who go to Parsons are just wasting their money thinking they are going to 1-up everyone else in the industry lol.

I graduate this May and won't owe a damn thingTongue

A lot of students and parents have no idea what they are getting into with loans. Some parents feel obligated to pay but they can't afford it so they co-sign on loans for their kids.

People just expect their kids to go to college. They don't dig deep into anything, don't ask questions, just tell em to take out a bunch of loans and send them on their way. Lack of knowledge causes problems. 17/18 year olds don't understand the severity of that kind of debt & I wouldn't expect them to. Higher education isn't approached realistically. They make 4 year schools seem like the best option all the time. Teens are impressionable & buy into it. If your folks didn't go to school either, how would they know any better than you?

If I had money to spare I'd pay their behinds in full too and call it a day. That actually doesn't sound like a bad idea I'm sick of them sending me letters harassing me especially when I'm not working right now nor am I anywhere near being finished with school SMDH
