I believe in the beginning the hair was better. The hair was collected from a single donor, thus this kept the hair cuticles running in the same direction. Less tangles, longer lasting and “better” hair. |
You are so correct! In the day, I got a BEAUTIFUL virgin curl and have never had one since that was a real virgin curl! I still have hope of finding an authentic non uniform virgin curl, but have not seen one since 2009! And boy I have tried!

Let me just say that the past hmmm 5 hours of my life have been enlightening to say the least. theres a place in Houston where I purchase my personal bundle hair and send my clients to, but I have been recently considering buying my own straight from the source and selling/using it for my clients (still a student but getting there lol) I am usually a pro at shopping online, but this alibaba aliexpress overseas business is a whole other animal. I have learned so much from these threads and I was doing so much research in this short 5 hours that I started putting 2 and 2 together. And I'll be damned if i didn't google "there is no such thing as Brazilian, Peruvian, Mongolian hair" that more things started adding up and I found this thread lol. And now that i do know, i feel stupid for having even bout into that crap. i just got so caught up in the craze and trying to "be in the know" and keep up with trends/competition that i didnt stop to put the pieces together. I love this website for the plethora of "heads ups" and "by the ways" and "back to reality-s" I thank you all! I will be silently lurking and sporadically posting. Ciao! 😉

No, there is no such thing as Brazilian, Peruvian,Brazilan, Mongolian hair. However, those hair textures DO look different. They look different because they are processed or sourced differently but it so happens that they are using these names to describe the hair but they could just as easily have called the hair Apple, Orange and Pear hair. :) They called the hair Brazilian, Peruvian, Mongolian so you think this is really the source of the hair - a fine marketing scheme - okay - just to get you to buy it. But in the end the hair DOES look different. I order Brazilian hair because I like thin strains and the texture and color ... only I know it's not really from Brazil. :) It doesn't matter to me though. They could call it Apple hair .. and I would still buy it.

The critical thing in all of this is the quality and technique of texturizing used by the vendor. Some do it well for one thing, another do it well for something else.

European? There is such a thing as Russian hair but I wouldn't trust it from a Chinese Vendor. I'd go to a European website for that. I will say that I have seen it advertised at Ruth's Beauty (who has a good rep) if u prefer an american vendor but I can't really speak on if it's "real" or not.

You can find it, but it will cost a grip! The Russian hair is spendy, and I mean a LOT of $$$.
To get an idea, look at the price of shietels
I purchased on on ebay eons ago, and it was the silkiest hair I have ever seen! If you want european, ie caucasian hair, I would pay for raw hair, and send it to a vendor to ventilate. And take tons of pics of the hair before you send it, and keep a small sample of the hair to compare it to when you get your product.
Tbh, I think a lot of vendors are mixing indian and chinese hair to get some of the more exotic looking hair textures. They feel different, but it is still indian or chinese. And as mentioned, the coatings are a big factor.
