I was wondering what Brazilian woman would actually cut their hair for sale.
It's either Indian or Chinese; that's it!

Just feeling so sorry for newbies.. BHM sets the pace it seems.. sometimes some of us will create a name or classification in "Vetspeak"..next thing you hear..is people that don't know hair type from a can of paint..and telling "us" what is the latest. CV's and the BSS lurk on this forum and then try to sell us more of what we already have under the "guise" of some new sources...THank you Need Tresses, Elisa and Newdiva1..thank goodness you all know what's up!!

I know tressa. I remember years ago a thread was started regarding naturally curly hair and if there was such a thing. Natural indian curly was brought up and Brazil was brought up cause of NatureGirl. I promise it wasn't 2 or 3 weeks later CV's was talmbout they got natural curly virgin brazilian hurr. And that they had it hand over fist. foh.
Same thing when we first had the conversation regarding different textures from different parts of the country....all of a sudden...Peruvian showed up.
I just realized you said "Elysian". lolololololol Elysian like Elysian Fields as in Heavenly hurr? LOLOLOL

absolute truth! I would love to do an experiment; start a topic on a new "type" of hair, let's say, "virgin venisian spiral curl", from women in the south of france, this hair is virgin ombre, from a season of natural bleaching by the sun, and the women are vegetarians and drink only spring water, and only wash with sprin water, see how fast that type of hair shows up on aliexpress with a hefty price.
the hair is chinese or indian, yes we know the quality is graded, quit sending out that floor swept hair for gods sake, and telling me its african virgin hair.

I totally believe this is true. However I think what's being marketed as Brazilian or Peruvian is the better grade hair we USE to get. My last couple regular, ol Indian hair units from reputable vendors have been absolute SH!T hair that behaved worse than a pack of Milky Way Yaki from the corner BSS. The 2 that are "Brazilian" and "Peruvian" are gorgeous and don't tangle or shed.

Carrie,
I believe in the beginning the hair was better. The hair was collected from a single donor, thus this kept the hair cuticles running in the same direction. Less tangles, longer lasting and “better” hair. Now they just collect any 'ol hair from everywhere, bundle it up and try to pass it off as “remy” hair or a higher quality hair.
What they do now with the hair (cuticles are not running in the same direction), is to process the hair with a silicone coating to give it a smooth feeling and hair that “looks” healthy. I believe THAT’s what some of the vendors are doing since there is such a demand on hair these days and the pressure to fullfill and make that profit. The CV’s are one of the culprits and most AV’s buy from these Chinese vendors. Not to say hair from India are not participants in the scam. As we all know and have seen in the news “quality control” is not the best in these countries especially China.
Your Brazilian or Peruvian were both hair donated by a single donor, with cuticle running all in one direction. This is the ‘BETTER” quality of hair. (Same hair you probably got 10 years ago except they called it either Chinese or Indian hair without the addition of names.) They then process this hair to make it curly, straight or wavy.
Now days there so much processing going on you don’t know what getting these days. I remember when I bought my second lF, it was mixed with synthetic hair. I never bought from that particular company again. How many threads have we seen that warns all vendors to “step up their game?
Yeah, they have to step up and STOP bamboozling customers and we as customers are going to have to call them out. Unfortunately, its hit or miss these days with ALL vendors.

I remember KevinCN said this to me years ago when Arjuju first popped up downstairs. He was like no...there's no such thing only Indian and Chinese. Everything else refers to the process texture but nothing more.
SMH at ppl getting swindled. Especially when you see hair with a uniform curl pattern and the buyer stays swearing that it's not processed. @_@
