i should be taking my ass to bed but i can't sleep.
@ricky: my original post simply asked a question about dating, being categorized as exotic and weeding out the coons who make the assumption about your race. i also followed up my initial post with a clarification about what is considered exotic; defining it as not just a physical characteristic but also the so called compliment some of us have heard from black men--that we "aren't like other black women".
i simply wanted to know how other black women feel about being approached this way. whether it makes dating difficult. boxes you in or what have you.
also, please note this integral tidbit from the blog that i think might go over some (not yours)people's heads because they're already prepared to go into attack mode (i aint claiming to be no snowflake):
| But this assumption is not with bias. I’ve asked other Black women, of all shades, shapes, and sizes, if they’ve heard this line a time or two. This “you look exotic” phenomenon isn’t just a cluster of isolated incidents reserved only for yours truly. Apparently, this a thing now.|
