Squats do work! I have been doing squats about 30 to 60 EOD days,(every other day), for about 3 to 4 months now.
My hips are wider and bigger and on my sides they are much more round than just straight.
My butt is a lot firmer and round too but I'm not finish just yet.
I do squats to tone my legs, butt and hips.
After my squats I stand in one spot and just run as if I'm running to tone my legs and to kill the pain,if any while doing the squats. It helps and I go that one extra mile to make sure I hit everything.
After that I do about 20 to 30 jumping jacks, which I probably could do all day.lol
But it seems like you have to do it consistently do everything.
Can anyone recommend something for the stomach, mine use to be flat as a pancake, but now I have lost my stomach muscles and want them back.
I hate sit ups,is there anything else I can incorporate into the squats to help with the stomach?
Do the squats work on that too or the jumping jacks?

squats will work your abs too once you are engaging them as you workout. you can also so side twists along with them(squat down and when you come up twist your upper body all while having your arms wrapped around a stick/broom resting on your shoulders) |
Thank You. Will that make my stomach flat or will that tone the muscles while making it flatter?
As in just having a tone stomach. I don't have a very big stomach at all just want to get it toned as much as possible.

I meant to comment on your progress, Southern. You look nice. How tall are you? Our thighs look similar. I'm about 5'11 and my thighs make me look shorter... to my friends. They swear were the same height even though I tower over them.
I'm going to incorporate more cardio to slim my legs while continuing squats. I've been doing traditional squats and ones using a chair, either 2x30 or 4x15. I don't notice any change yet because I'm inconsistent. I'm going to measure this week

For the last couple of days, I fell of the challenge. Well...not completely. I am doing Jillian Michael Body Revolution right now to tone my body up for the summer and has a lot of weighted Squats, lunges etc. in it. Yesterday, my hubby, however, commented how much more toned and shaped my booty is Now, I just have to work on building more booty muscles ... but I probably have to wait until I finish my program since I am working out 6 days a week and that includes my legs....Arg...Im so impatient...
