Topic: Spring and Summer Hair Color Posted: Mar 08 2013 at 12:59pm |
Granted some of us got quite a bit of snow this week, spring begins in two weeks!!! So, who here is planning on switching up their haircolor for the warmer months? Please post your current color and the color you want to change it to. You can post a description, photos of your hair or other reference photos (with permission) if needed.

My hair is currently levels 2,3,4 and 5 of red tones from gradually fading out black hair dye. Ive been looking into a few shades like cool tone reds or deep blues possibly a level 5 orange red .....I really can't make a decision until after I do a soap cap (aka bleach bath) to see what my color options are.

Spring Hair 2013: Summer 2013: It looks blue in this picture but actually quite a deep purple. I may add some pink to change it up a little. I'm not planning to bleach to achieve just want a lil tint. Like this but not like this lol and not on the whole my head as red will still be at the tips.

Deep purple with red tips sounds awesome, Kiki! African Violet looks like a deeper version of Indigo Blue in the swatches. They'd probably make a nice midnight blue when mixed together.

I'm going back to blue....like a deep blue. My first choice is Blue Velvet (a deep bright blue with violet untertones) by Special Effects (pictured below) I'm also looking at Midnight Blue by Jerome Russell Punky Colour and Adore's Indigo Blue just in case I can't find Blue Velvet.

That colour looks fab RedSoxtober must look into these special effects, from what I've seen there colours are vibrant. I also think it's nicer to go darker in colouR during the summer as the colour glistens beneath the suns raise then during spring/winter go brighter so it pops out of the all the snow. Just my opinion though lol.

Special Effects is pretty good, but their prices doubled since the last time I used this line. A 4oz bottle is about $12-14 now vs $7-8 fifteen years ago. Just Like Punky Colour used to be $4.50 for 3.5oz a jar and now it's $10. Actually, those prices are how I wound up using Adore .
